EUDR – COMPLIANT Soybeans

ANSWERING DEMANDS FOR SUSTAINABLE SOYBEANS

At P&H, we are committed to staying on top of changing regulations to ensure the success of Canadian farmers in the global market.

One significant regulatory change that will impact Canadian agriculture is the new European Union (EU) legislation concerning the export of soybeans. Soybeans, one of the most versatile and widely grown crops in the world, will be subject to stricter sustainability requirements in Europe. As the demand for sustainably sourced agricultural products continues to grow, more manufacturers are seeking soybeans that meet these standards.

The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) mandates that any soybeans entering the EU market must come from verified sustainable sources. This regulation addresses the environmental impact of major commodities such as soybeans. To comply, these commodities will need to be traceable back to their origin to show that operators and traders have exercised due diligence in their sourcing practices.

EUDR Enforcement Compliancy

As P&H exports Canadian soybeans to EU destinations, we will be working with farmers to ensure that any soybean crop destined for the EU is EUDR compliant as of January 2026.

P&H will be doing the following to ensure compliance with the regulation:

  • Collecting geo-coordinates from farms that ship soybeans to our elevators.
  • Collecting geo-coordinates from farms that we buy soybeans from indirectly, such as through cooperatives, aggregators or other buyers.
  • Physically segregating EUDR-compliant commodities from non-compliant commodities.
  • Ensuring each shipment to the EU complies with all regulatory requirements.

Your local P&H representative can help answer any questions you might have about this regulation.
